The casino
Casino Velden is one of Austria’s licensed casinos and stands in the middle of this lakeside resort, with tables, slots, a bar and a restaurant.
Where to stay
Choose a lakefront hotel with its own jetty. The Wörthersee warms up nicely in summer, so swimming straight from your hotel is a big part of the appeal.
Beyond the tables
Take a boat across to the church-topped Maria Wörth peninsula, swim from the jetties, or climb the Pyramidenkogel tower for views over the lake.
Getting there
Klagenfurt Airport is 20–30 minutes away by road, and trains through Carinthia stop at Velden.
